The Children Jury - 2006
A Children jury created by Nicole Coppey for the International Violin Competition of Sion-Valais, beside the International Jury presided by Maestro Shlomo Mintz
For the fourth consecutive year the International Violin Competition of Sion-Valais and the music school “Un, Deux, Trois, Musiques…” renewed their collaboration to form a Children Jury who is called upon to judge the top level competition participants in conjunction with the International Jury. This formula was a success the first time it was introduced to the competition in a world premier in 2003, it makes up one of the special aspects of the violin competition presided by the noble patronage of Maestro Shlomo Mintz.
As was done in previous competitions, the Children Jury functioned in parallel with the International Jury. The Children Jury is composed of nine members between the ages of 8 to 14. The basis on which the children are invited to participate in the project are a proven musical sensitivity, they’ve demonstrated personal commitment, as well being adaptable and an ability to complement each other. For a period of one year Nicole Coppey and the music school “Un, Deux, Trois, Musiques...” in Sion worked with the children to train them for the jury.
